Tongue-tie Evaluation & Treatment

Our team specializes in the evaluation and treatment of tongue-tie related feeding issues. Dr. O'Hara specializes in precise tongue tie release with surgical scissors. Your baby will also bodywork as a complimentary treatment. (to learn more about bodywork, click here).  If your baby has a tongue or lip tie release, we typically see you back for a follow-up in 3-5 days. At that time we will check healing of the sites, address any remaining concerns.

In general, both mom and baby need to be carefully evaluated to diagnose and treat breastfeeding problems. For a full evaluation expect your visit to take at least 2 hours. Please feel free to utilize our educational videos and books in our waiting area. You can also feed your baby, as it is not necessary that your child be kept hungry for assessment. We strive to provide care in a timely fashion but cannot always predict how much time families (including yours) will need.
